Is there any background information?

Yes, there is a long story to tell on Journals! To begin, they have been around since 1924, originally journals where a source to collect your ideas and put them into writing. In this way you would be able to remember what you thought earlier in the day. It’s a true fact that even the oldest of writers used a notebook to keep hold of their important stories, music and art for inspiration. And even today most top writers such as, Quentin Tarantino, Neil Gaiman and Stephen King all favour a pen and paper over writing on a computer.

What branding techniques do you offer?

The main goal we all want to achieve when trying to promote a business is to stand out from the crowd. Which is why at Rapid Notes we like to advertise using a variety of branding techniques to help you achieve this. Here are a few of our favourite ways:

Debossing

Debossing is also known as blind embossing. This is our favourite method of branding. The process starts with a metal stamp also called ‘die’ forming a type of impression into the product. Because debossing is a colourless form of customisation the finished effect is more elusive than others. The depth of the design will also vary upon the type of journal you choose. For example, thinner materials will create a shallower deboss. This results in a much fainter design. One of our most popular journals is the Large Noir Journal. The format of the covering is a plain and soft UV. It comes with a pen loop, ribbon bookmark and an elastic closure all in matching colours. Due to its large size it fits 128 lined pages so you can make notes forever!Additionally because of the soft, thicker cover it is the perfect journal for debossing. You can click here to view the product which contains a few examples. For a more executive journal we would recommend the Castelli Ivory Tuscon. If you are unaware of the brand Castelli they are a well known Italian company that creates premium notebooks worldwide. The Castelli Tuscon is their most popular notebook due to its soft cover and reasonable price tag considering the high quality. Because this is an executive journal we would recommend that you use the debossing technique when it comes to branding this journal. This is also due to it being a durable branding method that creates a long lasting impression so your branding will last forever.

UV Digital Print

This is another one of our popular forms of branding. For this procedure an ultraviolet light (UV) dries the ink as it is being printed. Like all flatbed printers, the digital UV printer needs to be given information such as artwork in high res photos, vectors, or ready to print PDFs so the machine understands what it needs to do. In situations where you have a full colour photograph or an extremely detailed design with multiple colours the UV print method is ideal. For example, if your logo has sufficient, detailed designs with multiple colours we would recommend using the digital print as your branding method. This is due to the printers ability to create every little detail to enable your artwork to stand out in the crowd. Our favourite journal to use the UV digital print method on is the A5 Mole. Due to its beautiful soft cover and friendly price tag the A5 Mole is the most popular journal out of all the options on our site. With its stunning range of colours and super rapid delivery you can’t really go wrong! And with a full colour piece of quality artwork printed onto the front cover your branding is guaranteed to look awesome. Additionally for a more textured effect we have the Suber A5 Cork Journal. This is a beautiful unique design before print is even placed onto the product. With a touch of rubbled cork it almost feels like you're holding a cork top in your hand! Due to the journal already being quite dark, the full colour UV print would suit this best. By adding multiple colours and details your design will be able to stand out easily.
